Gucci Gallery
Founded just over a century ago, in 1921, by Italian handbag designer, Guccio Gucci, the Gucci brand has since brought us clothes, shoes, belts. Sunglasses, jewellery, wallets, and, of course, perfume. The first Gucci perfume was released in 1974 and was named Gucci No. 1 for Women.
A chyper-floral fragrance, it was a classy and elegant scent. Top notes of aldehydes, hyacinth, palisander rosewood, geranium, bergamot, green notes and Amalfi lemon give a complex, deep and floral opening, which is evened out by the mid notes of carnation, rose, ylang-ylang, heliotrope, lilac, iris, jasmine, lily of the valley, neroli and orchid. This floral fantasia gives it a sweet and delicate centre, and it is all built up over a woody base of oak moss, amber, benzoin, musk, Virginia cedar, sandalwood, vetiver, patchouli, tonka bean and vanilla.
The popularity of this fragrance meant that it wasn’t long before another was on the way, and in 1976, Gucci Pour Homme hit the shelves. In the four and a half decades since, Gucci have released a further 105 perfumes for men and women. These are a few of our favourites and are all available from our website.
Gucci Bloom
As the name suggests, this is a light and floral scent, mostly made from white flowers and green fragrances. It is a sweet, creamy and fairly strong in its opening, but this quickly softens, leaving a light and delicate scent.
The bottle is a rose-pink oblong with a classy black-framed, white logo, a black spray nozzle and a round, rose-pink topper.
Gucci Guilty
This amber-floral scent was released in 2010 and has remained consistently popular since that time. Top notes of pink pepper, mandarin orange and bergamot give a soft, light and fruity fragrance which is further mellowed by the floral centre of lilac, geranium, jasmine, peach and blackcurrant. The base of amber, patchouli, vanilla and white musk gives this light scent a bit of depth and kick.
This bottle is a rounded square in an almost rose-gold metallic with the logo embossed.
Gucci Alchemists Garden – Moonlight Serenade
Part of Gucci’s Alchemists Garden collection, which can be used as separates or layered over each other, Moonlight Serenade is an aromatic unisex fragrance. Top notes of lavender over sage and tonka bean give an invigorating and exciting fragrance.
Fitting the collection, this bottle is a traditional potion bottle style, in white with floral decorations and a gold logo.
