When everything is just too, too hot, a nice, cooling scent is a great way to freshen up when you can’t make it for a bathroom break. These scents will keep you cool, calm and collected through a summer that’s set to be one of our hottest yet. You can find the individual bottles, or usually as part of a perfume gift set.
This light and crisp scent by Davidoff was released in 1996 and is a floral aquatic fragrance. Reminiscent of an ocean breeze, it is a beautifully delicate scent. Top notes of melon, lotus, lemon, pineapple, quince, lily and blackcurrant give a relaxed opening and the mid notes of water lily, lily of the valley, jasmine, honey, hawthorn and rose keep it laid back. The base of musk, vetiver, blackberry, raspberry, violet root, peach and sandalwood are just as mellow, giving soft waves that gently change.
The bottle is like a water drop – slim at the top, fat and round at the bottom and in a clear blue with the logo and branding printed on the front of the bottle.
Fresh, sharp and masculine, this was the original Cool Water fragrance from Davidoff and was released in 1988, making it almost 25 years old. Top notes of mint, lavender, green notes, rosemary and coriander are followed by mid notes of sandalwood, neroli, geranium, and jasmine, giving a cool, soothing fragrance. The base of musk, tobacco, oakmoss, cedar and ambergris give it a hint of depth, with the oakmoss and cedar adding to the cooling effect.
This bottle is tall, deep-blue glass with rounded edges. The cap is plain black and chunky, and the logo and branding are printed on the front.
This unisex fragrance was released in 1994 and is a citrus aromatic scent. Light, crisp and fruity, it has top notes of lemon, green notes, bergamot, pineapple, cardamom, mandarin orange and papaya, giving a really fruity, tropical feel. Mid notes of lily of the valley, jasmine, violet, nutmeg, rose, orris root and freesia, which temper that fruity zing and bring a calmer aura. The base of green accord, musk, cedar, sandalwood, oakmoss, green tea and amber cool it down and the whole is a pleasantly fruity yet soft scent.
The bottle is frosted glass in a classic oblong-shape, with a muted silver lid and the branding and logo printed on the bottle front.
This light and breezy fragrance is the sibling of Wonderlust, and was released in 2018. Sweet and fruity, it is a floral fruity scent and is beautifully light. Top notes of pomelo, Granny Smith apple and bergamot have a little zing, which is immediately tempered by the mid notes of jasmine, lily of the valley and peony. The base of musk, woody notes and sandalwood keep it light and airy all the way through.
The bottle is beautiful; a round, clear glass tube shape with a metallic gold-coloured lid and the vaguely pink contents on display.
