In this blog we’re taking you back, reminding you of some of our favourite classic scents that will never go out of fashion. From leading fragrance brands and some of the biggest fashion houses, these classic perfumes have been around for years but every year we find a new love for them, bringing them back into our collections and re-discovering just why us beauty lovers fell in love with them in the first place.

Lancome Tresor

Launched in 1990, almost 35 years ago! Tresor by Lancome is one fragrance that has stood the real test of time. Remaining a popular choice with its combination of sandalwood, musk, rose petals, apricot blossoms and vanilla, the fruity fragrance has remained a best seller for decades.

Givenchy L'Interdit

Even just the mention of its name is enough for many to recognise the scent of Givenchy L’Interdit. The perfume was originally created way back in 1954, exclusively for Audrey Hepburn by Hubert de Givenchy. It was later made available for purchase in 1957. Hepburn became the first ‘face’ of a fragrance.

However it has since had a makeover and was re-released and reformulated for sale across the world. Ever since, L’interdit has been an iconic perfume and one which evokes ‘passionate seduction’. Thanks to its incredible history and backstory, L’interdit will remain an iconic, timeless fragrance forever.

Narciso Rodriguez For Her

Launched in 2003, Narcisco Rodriguez For Her has certainly earned its classic status. A fragrance that can be worn day or night, the simple choice of scent notes including amber, vanilla, vetiver and musk, create a perfume that withstands trends and fashions.

Jean Paul Gaultier Classique

A perfume recognisable just for its bottle, JPG’s Classique formed the foundation of one of the industries most iconic line of women’s fragrances. The bottle in the shape of a female body, containing a sensual, oriental/floral fragrance, the 1993 edition is without a doubt a classic perfume and will go down in history for its provocative yet irresistible product design.

Calvin Klein Eternity

Calvin Klein’s fragrance line is synonymous with a teen’s first fragrance, providing nostalgia for hundreds of thousands of perfume lovers. Whether Calvin Klein Eternity was your first fragrance or one you discovered later in life, its classic floral scent can be worn at any age! Launched in 1988, this fragrance has been a popular, budget-friendly perfume choice for over 30 years and continues to captivate new fans.

Reasons To Choose A Classic Fragrance

  1. Nostalgia

Scents can evoke memories and emotions, and can remind people of specific places or people. A classic scent, perhaps one your mother used to wear, may evoke strong emotions and provide a sense of nostalgia that cannot be replicated with a modern fragrance.

  1. Classic status

Timeless fragrances can be considered signature scents, and can make a good first impression. Their status provides a symbol that often encourages many perfume lovers to be drawn to them. Providing a perfume option to go back to time and time again.

  1. Staying power

Timeless fragrances can survive fashion fads and remain popular. This is why many of them are made with very few or only a sample selection of classic ingredients and notes. Perfumes of this kind will pass through trends and fads, remaining true to their classic scents and continuing to be some of the bestselling on the market.

Classic and Timeless Perfumes FAQs:

With devoted fans and new perfume addicts falling in love with them year after year. A classic perfume is capable of standing the test of time, no matter what the current trends are.

Q: Do any modern fragrances have the potential to become classics?

A: Certainly, and those that boom in popularity and gain traction over several years have a high chance of becoming classics if the scent remains the same. Some potential examples include; Gucci Bloom, Lancome La Vie Est Belle, and Armani Si.
